2 like minded people came together to make The Breakfast Box reality. We both have a passion for healthy food, high quality in food, and being service minded, but we also care about our planet.
It's our mission to bring healthy, fresh and delicious breakfast to everyone because feeling good starts with eating good.
Joep already developed his passion for good food when he was a teenager. Since he was 15 he has been working in the hospitality industry, and he still does. With one grandma owning a successful hotel and restaurant in Maastricht, and the other grandfather & grandma having their own successful wooden pallet factory, it is not a coincidence that the hospitality industry combined with running an own business, triggered his interest.
After highschool Joep started as a student at the Hotelschool The Hague where he graduated with a Bachelors in Hospitality and Business Administration. He has been working and leading Food and Beverage teams in 4 & 5 star hotels in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dubai, Ibiza, London & Vienna to learn the ins and outs of the business.
Joep brings industry knowledge, a passion for good food and a high service standard to The Breakfast Box.
When Tjitze was young he knew already he wanted to be a chef. He started to work in different kinds of restaurants and in his spare time he participated in cooking competitions.
He won several prices and became Culinary World Cup winner with the National Youth team of the Netherlands.
After a few years of experience in Friesland Tjitze moved to Amsterdam and worked in some of the best Michelin star restaurants as a sous chef. He progressed his career as a Executive Chef and in the meantime started to write his own book about Dutch classic dishes, served in a modern way.
Nowadays Tjitze is focussing on creating a better world; cooking with as much as possible local ingredients and organizing events like a 24 hour cooking marathon with the best Dutch chefs.
